Costume Guide – Kind Ruthlessness Hikage (Limited)

As a seasoned player who has seen the rise and fall of countless characters in this game, I must say that Hikage is one character that truly stands out. Her damage output is simply mind-boggling, with a potential of 1,674% on a single target at max potential! That’s enough to make even the toughest bosses quiver with fear.

Hikage for PVE

Chain stacking

In a remarkable fashion, Hikage’s skill strikes an exceptional 12 times. Typically, skills range from striking once to thrice, while those hitting five times are usually deemed as having a high number of hits.

As a gamer, I’ve noticed that only three other characters have combat skills capable of dealing more than five hits: Robin Hood Zenith, who can strike a single target six times, the Empress of the Ocean Rubia, who unleashes six hits on an area, and Curse Celia, who hits an area seven times.

In simple terms, Celia is renowned as the queen of stacking chains due to her possession of a unique costume known as Masquerade Bunny, which multiplies Celia’s chain stacks on her abilities. This enables her to alternate costumes between Bunny, Curse, and Descendant for a sequence of 6 hits, then 14 hits, and finally 10 hits.

Among stackers, Celia remains the top choice due to her wide-area-of-effect (AOE) of 3×3 in all her skills. However, when it comes to single targets, Hikage at level +4 and above stands out because she consistently delivers 12 hits per turn, which on average surpasses Celia’s performance, and for the added bonus, it costs less SP.

Chain stacking plays a crucial role as it boosts the following attack’s damage by 10% for each chain you accumulate. This means that Hikage significantly enhances the damage inflicted on the target. If Hikage initiates an attack, the subsequent strike from your next teammate will benefit from a +120% bonus damage due to the chain stacks.

In addition, Hikage complements PWB.Refi exceptionally well. Not only does PWB.Refi double the stacked chains, but his enhancement grants Hikage an astounding 24 chain stacks. This not only amplifies Hikage’s own damage output, but also increases the damage of your other team members against the target enemy by a considerable margin.

Own damage

Moreover, Hikage’s self-inflicted damage is extraordinarily high. At maximum power level +5, she deals 12 times 90%, amounting to an impressive 1,674% when accounting for chain damage. It’s worth noting that Hikage boasts a decent base attack stat of 352, typical for 5-star attackers, but what sets her apart is her high base crit damage of 100% (higher than the standard 50%). This results in Hikage being an effective single target destroyer, particularly when equipped with a high critical rate boost. Despite her skill only striking one opponent, she delivers an incredibly powerful blow.

Game modes

In the game Last Night, Hikage’s exceptionally high hit count makes her an ideal character due to her ability to boost damage through chain stacks. For players who haven’t yet surpassed the 110 million damage milestone, simply incorporating a single copy of Hikage with PWB.Refi can substantially elevate your overall damage output.

In the realm of Player vs Environment (PVE) battles, Hikage excels particularly well during challenging encounters against bosses. Her abilities are ideal for delivering high, focused damage on a single target. When navigating through Tower of Salvation, having Hikage in your team can be beneficial as she aids significantly in clearing boss levels more efficiently.

When it comes to tracking down fiends and leading guild assaults, she’s quite proficient at taking down bosses that have only a handful of vulnerable spots, or one major weakness that inflicts substantial damage. However, if the boss has multiple weak points, around three or more with roughly equal vulnerability, other area-of-effect attackers usually perform better in such scenarios.

Hikage’s weapon

There’s one more really important thing to consider before investing in Hikage: HER UNIQUE GEAR IS LIMITED.

To fully boost Hikage’s attack strength, ensure she reaches +5 level before the special banner ends. Additionally, obtaining her unique equipment is crucial as it amplifies her Critical Damage by an impressive 90% on her bonus stat. If you fail to get this unique gear during the limited weapon banner, the opportunity for that additional 90% Critical Damage will be lost permanently.

As a gamer, I gotta say, dropping that much coin on a character outfit and weapon isn’t something I take lightly. Make sure you’ve thought it through before making your move.

Hikage for PVP

In PVP, having a constant, singular damage dealer isn’t detrimental, but with the present game metagame, a 3-skill point costume that eliminates one unit at a time might struggle to make an impact and gain traction in the competitive arena.

In simpler terms, Nature’s Claw Rou is often compared to other PVP performers due to her exceptional ability to deal high HP damage and reduce an opponent’s defense by 20%. This makes her particularly effective against tough tanks. However, she requires 3 Skill Points (SP) to reach full potential, which can be a disadvantage in terms of cost. Yet, Nature’s Claw Rou offers an additional benefit of increased evasion, enhancing her survivability. Despite being strong and potentially more reliable than Hikage in PVP, Nature’s Claw Rou is not often used as an opening move. Instead, she is typically saved for a finishing blow after Red Hat and White Cat, both of which have lower SP costs.

On a different note, Hikage lacks the benefits of Rou’s other costumes, and she doesn’t have an affordable starting move. Moreover, Hikage has fewer health points (1911 base HP) and no defense or magical resistance to begin with, making her less durable than other characters. This means she might not be widely used in the competitive high-tier scene due to her lack of popularity.

Conclusion

Based on her exceptional 12-hit ability, which allows for impressive chain effects, it would be advisable to acquire at least one copy of this character. With each upgrade (+1), the special skill cost decreases, while reaching +4 eliminates her cooldown, enabling her to use her skill every turn without delay.

Since the costumes and weapons are scarce, make sure to plan your spending wisely before making a purchase!
