As a seasoned player with years of experience under my belt, I must say that Yozakura is quite the enigma in this game of ours. On one hand, she packs a punch with her impressive 3×285% damage skill and her strong basic attack, making her stand out among other wind costumes. However, it’s the “how” rather than the “what” that seems to be holding her back from truly shining.

Affordable long-term maintenance with SP: Expend 4 SP during your initial turn, regain 1 SP on your subsequent turn from a basic attack.
- Niche skill set, not many kinds of battles where she particularly shines

Due to being a special collaboration character, it’s not expected that she will receive new outfits anytime soon.
- Exclusive weapon is also limited: if you miss it on the banner, it may never return
Yozakura for PVE
Yozakura’s unique feature lies in her dual attack modes. Activating her ability triggers a powerful area-of-effect magic strike (amplified to 3 times 285% damage at maximum potential), followed by a strong single-target basic attack (increased to 1200% damage at maximum potential) on your subsequent turn, while the skill is on cooldown. In every phase of combat, her damage output is high, surpassing that of most wind-themed costumes.
Despite her impressive damage potential and an appealing mechanism, it can be challenging to locate a type of combat scenario where her unique ability fits seamlessly.
When it comes to consistently dealing damage to a single target, Yozakura falls short compared to Hikage, who excels significantly in this role as the superior choice for single target destruction.
As a gamer, I’ve noticed that when it comes to Area of Effect (AOE) damage, Yozakura’s skill packs quite a punch among wind attackers. However, the range on her AOE is noticeably smaller compared to other characters like DJ.Venaka and especially Yomi, who’s being handed out for free during this event. It seems Yozakura isn’t the best choice when it comes to taking down large groups of enemies.
In most cases, it’s challenging to discover a type of combat where dealing both area-of-effect (AOE) and single-target damage is advantageous. Typically, you’ll either aim for maximum AOE damage or focus on single-target concentrated damage. The need to do both is uncommon.
In certain specific situations, Yozakura’s unique set of skills might prove beneficial, such as when these circumstances arise:
- If the enemy had short silence effects, Yozakura could still continue to use a strong basic attack whilst silenced;
- If the enemy had conditional effects where you needed to avoid hitting certain tiles on certain turns, Yozakura would be nice;
- If there were a long battle where SP was extremely scarce, Yozakura would be an SP efficient choice (net cost of 3 SP over 2 turns).
From my perspective as a fan, she deals a significant amount of damage, but her unique style doesn’t seem to shine exceptionally well in any specific gaming scenario.
Yozakura’s weapon
Before investing in Yozakura, it’s crucial to keep in mind that its unique gear is quite limited.
To fully optimize her attack potential, ensure she’s upgraded to +5 before the limited banner ends. Additionally, obtaining her unique equipment is crucial as it boosts her M.ATK by 45% on the bonus stat. If you fail to get it during the limited weapon banner, you forfeit the opportunity to enjoy that additional stat increase permanently.
Considering the substantial expense involved in purchasing both the costume and the weapon, make sure you carefully weigh your options before making a decision.
Yozakura for PVP
As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share my personal viewpoint on Yozakura in PVP scenarios. Unfortunately, her impact doesn’t seem to be substantial enough to warrant the high cost of her 4 SP skill. Moreover, her HP stat is quite low, making her less durable and not always able to withstand beyond the initial turns.
Translating a 4-point special attack into a 0-point special attack in the following turn isn’t particularly beneficial, considering there’s no assurance of survival until then. In fact, if her ability functioned in reverse (a 0-point special attack to a 4-point special attack next turn), she would have been extraordinarily powerful, but regrettably, that’s not how her skill operates.
Conclusion
Yokazura packs quite a punch, yet her unique mechanism presents challenges in finding optimal uses for it. Furthermore, achieving her full potential requires a substantial financial commitment, considering the cost of her costume and weapon banners which are only available for a limited time.
The character Yomi, with an upgrade of +5, is currently being launched as a potent wind attacker. At this level (+5), Yomi deals more damage than a low-level costumed Yokazura. Thus, it might not be essential for many players to put in significant resources into enhancing Yokazura, as the boost in PVE wind team power would only be moderate.
