Costume Guide – Demon’s Daughter Seir

As a seasoned player with countless hours spent in this game, I can confidently say that Andrew is indeed a reliable choice for beginners and even experienced players alike. His combination of taunt and evasion makes him a versatile tank that can handle most situations in PVE. However, when it comes to PVP, the landscape becomes more complex.

Seir for PVE

DD.Seir is an exceptional tank, there’s no questioning it. Sporting a whopping 85% damage reduction, a taunt ability, and self-healing capabilities, she becomes extremely challenging to defeat. In truth, she borders on being virtually indestructible against PVE opponents who lack fixed or pure damage, or the ability to remove buffs. She truly shines when taking on multiple attacks, as her healing speed frequently outpaces the enemy’s capacity to inflict damage.

In player versus environment (PVE) gameplay for DD.Seir, tanks are seldom required, which raises concerns about the game’s design more so than any inherent issues with DD.Seir’s abilities or skill set.

Generally speaking, in standard PVE fights, the goal is to end the battle swiftly, ideally within a single round. To achieve this speed, an offensive strategy is more effective as tanks are not necessary for these fast-paced encounters.

In summary, after creating gears to attain 90% Defense or 90% Magic Resistance for your units, they will become tough to eliminate without a dedicated tank. However, if you require additional endurance, energy guard buffers such as Red Hat Rou and Anti-Dystopia Diana are often preferable over a dedicated tank like Seir. These buffers not only safeguard your entire team, but also offer beneficial effects such as Red Hat Rou’s 50% critical rate boost and various offensive outfits, and AOTU.Diana’s top-tier offensive buffing abilities in the game. In contrast, Seir merely serves as a tank, using up a valuable team spot without offering any additional benefits.

In summary, when it comes to choosing a tank, especially in situations where a tank is truly necessary, the four-star character, Loyal Butler Andrew, often does the trick quite effectively. He’s an excellent option for beginners due to his combination of taunt and evasion abilities. Since Andrew operates on an evasion mechanic, he can handle enemies of varying power levels without being hindered by his lower 4-star stats. Although his evasion relies on luck and may not always activate, this isn’t a significant concern in PVE environments because you can easily retry if he misses. Furthermore, as a free-to-play (F2P) resource, Andrew serves as an alternative to the five-star tank character, Seir, reducing the need for one.

Seir for PVP

At first glance, Seir appears to be an exceptional choice for Player versus Player (PVP) tank battles. With her potential upgrades, she stands out as the most cost-effective taunt in the game, requiring just 2 SP, a significant advantage in PVP combat. She boasts incredibly high Health Points (HP), ideal for absorbing damage, and pairs well with her B-Rank Idol costume, further enhancing her performance.

So why isn’t Seir more popular in PVP? There are 2 main reasons.

The primary cause for concern here is the presence of Justia in PVP battles, as it poses a significant challenge to Seir due to its light-type nature and consistent skill damage. Unfortunately for Seir, this damage bypasses its ability to reduce harm. A popular variant of Justia, Blood Glutton Justia, even boasts bonus property damage against dark types, making it an almost lethal strike against well-equipped Seirs.

As long as Justia continues to be favored in Player vs Player (PVP), Seir may find it challenging to gain traction within the same game metagame.

The primary disadvantage is that Seir lacks any offensive abilities when compared to other commonly used tanks like Android Queen Lecliss, who boasts impressive defensive capabilities coupled with a potent counterattack strong enough to potentially decide the game on its own. Similarly, Glacia can administer reasonable fixed damage using her Disciplinary Committee costume and has an advantage due to her Comeback Idol costume’s pre-emptive nature, but she also possesses The Void for retaliatory attacks.

From my perspective as a dedicated fan, Seir boasts self-healing capabilities with her Demon’s Daughter outfit, and she also gets SP recharge with her B-Rank Idol costume. However, these abilities, though exciting, may not significantly alter the course of battles in PVP (Player vs Player) encounters.

To wrap up, it’s important to highlight that while Seir is a tank, her defensive stats at level 100 aren’t quite on par with those of other widely-used tanks. The following table provides a comparison of Seir’s defensive statistics with her counterparts:

Character HP DEF M.RES
Seir 4368 0% 0%
Glacia 4473 0% 20%
Granhildr 4767 0% 0%
Lecliss 4515 10% 0%

Even though Seir’s stats are similar to those of well-known tanks, she tends to perform slightly less effectively compared to them.

Conclusion

As a gamer here, I wouldn’t recommend using your tickets on Demon’s Daughter right now. The developers have given us a sneak peek that they’ll be releasing a new Seir costume soon. If you’re considering an investment, it might be wise to wait until we get more details about this upcoming Seir costume banner before making a move.
