‘Coolest Thing Ever’: Harry Connick Jr. Shares Experience Of Filming Find Me Falling Skinny-Dipping Scene

As a dedicated fan of Harry Connick Jr., I have always admired his versatility as an artist and actor. His recent Netflix rom-com “Find Me Falling” has once again showcased his acting prowess, leaving me in awe. However, there’s one scene that has sparked quite the buzz – Harry’s skinny-dipping moment.

Harry Connick Jr.’s new Netflix romantic comedy “Find Me Falling” premiered on July 19, 2024. One particular scene, in which Harry appears nude while skinny-dipping, has caused quite a buzz online. Recently, the actor discussed this scene openly and shared some insights.

Harry, during a recent interview for the movie “Find Me Falling,” laughed off rumors that he was actually naked during the skinny-dipping scene filmed in the Mediterranean Sea. He noted the resemblance between his character and himself, both being musicians who later became actors. In Harry’s past, he has written and sung songs before focusing on acting.

Harry Connick Jr.’s response to the skinny-dipping scene

Harry Connick Jr., in an interview with Decider, spoke candidly about the scene where he went skinny-dipping. He shared, “It was a real treat. I got to enjoy this stunningly beautiful stretch of ocean. I wasn’t actually skinny-dipping, though. I believe I had on some sort of flesh-colored swimwear.”

He continued, “But that’s the kind of day that you’re floating around the water saying, “What do I do for a living? This is the coolest thing ever!” It was really fun, and everybody was just thrilled to be there, and it was a funny scene. It was very difficult for the crew, but all I had to do was float around for six hours! I was happy to do that.”

Harry Connick Jr. on his character John Allman

Harry spoke about the musician character’s backstory, finding it an effortless exploration. Yet, he found greater enjoyment in unearthing another side of the character. While the real-life Harry is content with a wife and three daughters, his on-screen persona, John, had faced a more complex past. He had struggled with substance abuse and infidelity, leading him down a less fortunate path.

The Grammy-winning actor from “When Harry Met Sally” commended the scriptwriter Nora Ephron for her work on “Find Me Falling.” He expressed the intricacy of his character, explaining, “He’s a complex man who has misplaced something valuable in his life. He’s frantically searching for it but isn’t quite sure what he’s lost or how to recover it. Coincidentally, events started helping him mend.”
