Well, well, well, look who’s making moves in the blockchain world! Concordium, the enterprise-friendly blockchain, just announced the addition of four new stablecoin platforms to its chain. Agant, Noon, Deep Blue, and AEDX are now cozying up to Concordium’s Protocol-Level Token technology, which sounds fancy enough to make your head spin. But hey, it’s all about bringing new assets to the table, right? 😎
The Stablecoin Quartet: USD, GBP, AED – All Under One Roof!
According to their official statement (because of course, it’s official), Concordium, the so-called “novel” Layer-1 blockchain, is rolling out the red carpet for four stablecoin protocols. That means Agant, Noon, Deep Blue, and AEDX are now part of Concordium’s ecosystem. And, lucky us, these stablecoins are now available for everyone who’s got a fancy wallet and a penchant for blockchain chaos.
Hold on to your hats, folks! 🌟
We’re thrilled to have @AgantFinance, @noon_capital, @DeepBlue_to, and @AEDX_org launch their native stablecoins on our Layer 1.
🌍 GBPA – The British pound goes Web3, because why not?
💵 USN – USD-pegged and ready to make some moves…— Concordium (@ConcordiumNet) April 22, 2025
Now, here’s the twist – these four stablecoins will be natively issued and held directly in wallets, no smart contracts involved. That’s right, no more worrying about those pesky attack vectors on chains like Ethereum or Solana. It’s like Concordium gave the blockchain security a nice cozy blanket. 🛌
Concordium’s CEO, Boris Bohrer-Bilowitzki (yes, that’s a mouthful), is quite excited about these new additions, and who can blame him? He’s looking forward to integrating these stablecoins into their growing ecosystem:
We’re absolutely tickled pink to welcome these innovative projects. This isn’t just about supporting smart contract-less execution – it’s about making Web3 technology work for real-world finance, especially stablecoins!
And he’s got big plans to work closely with Agant, Noon, Deep Blue, and AEDX. We’re sure it’s all going to be very productive – just don’t hold your breath for any immediate changes.
First up, GBPA – a stablecoin pegged to the British pound. It’s a brainchild of Agant, a fintech firm from the UK. Agant is already a member of the Digital Pound Foundation and Stablecoin Standard, and they’re on a mission to blend traditional finance with DeFi. Because who wouldn’t want a bit of British charm in their digital wallet? 🇬🇧
The PayFi Dream Team: Unlocking New Opportunities
Next, we’ve got USN, the USD-pegged stablecoin from Noon. USN can be minted by depositing Tether (USDT) or USD Coin (USDC) as collateral. But here’s the kicker: that collateral gets deployed into-neutral strategies to generate yield. It’s like making money while you sleep – if you know how to set it up, of course. Noon’s TVL is already sitting at a comfy $33 million, and their team is full of people with names that sound like they know what they’re doing (McKinsey & Company, Goldman Sachs, Aave, OKX). Sounds legit, right? 💸
Moving on, we’ve got DBUSD, the first stablecoin from Deep Blue in Jersey (because why not? It’s the Crown Dependency’s first shot at fintech innovation!). DBUSD is backed by USD reserves, and they’re looking to make waves in cross-border finance. Jersey’s future is looking mighty digital. 🌐
Julien Bahurel, CEO of Deep Blue, seems pretty stoked about this launch, too:
Launching DBUSD on Concordium is a big step for us, and it’s all about bridging the gap between traditional finance and Web3. We’re redefining how stablecoins can make global finance smoother, one transaction at a time.
Finally, let’s talk AEDX, the “stablecoin for a better world.” Pegged to the UAE Dirham (AED), this stablecoin is making a name for itself in the MENA and CIS regions. They’re planning to issue five million AEDX tokens during their pilot phase, with a goal of scaling to a billion tokens in 3-5 years. Why the rush? Well, AEDX is pledging most of its profits to fund public goods and charitable projects. Maybe we’ll all get a shiny new car or two. 🚗💨
