Commander Quest adds Genghis Khan in roguelike deckbuilder’s latest update

On June 13, 2025, Flyway Games released a complimentary update for their widely played deckbuilder roguelike game, Commander Quest. This update introduced none other than Genghis Khan and his extraordinary character, Temujin Doombeard, into the game.

Amongst the esteemed company of Richard the Lionheart and Zhuge Liang, the most distinguished Mongolian Khan finds his place in this captivating blend of roguelike deckbuilding and auto-battling. This unique fusion, praised for its quality upon launch on Steam, is now backed by KRAFTON as its publisher.

Genghis possesses an extraordinary resilience feature: If he endures damage over three consecutive turns, and manages to stay alive through it all, he has the ability to permanently forfeit one of his cards from his deck to emerge victorious in the current struggle. This is a desperate action that could potentially devastate your deck, but under certain circumstances, this sacrifice might prove beneficial.

Being renowned for his command of horse archers, he has ways to buff his ranged troops.

With the arrival of a fresh commander, there’s a revamp in store for the Dwarf faction. Many of its crucial units are now classified as Mechanical, and several brand-new cards associated with this unit-type – or those that interact with it – have been incorporated into the game. Additionally, new relics have been introduced. This overhaul will breathe a fresh feel into the Dwarves and expand their playstyle options.

Commander Quest is joining the ongoing Steam publisher sale by KRAFTON, allowing gamers to explore the game at a reduced price of 20%.
