Colleen Hoover’s Verity: Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson Starrer To Release on THIS Date Amid Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni Drama

The movie version of Colleen Hoover’s Verity has been scheduled for release. Despite the ongoing court case between Blake Lively and Justin Baloni, the production team has announced that the film featuring Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson will premiere on May 15, 2026. Filming for the movie is currently taking place in New York.

In this movie, Michael Showalter takes on the role of director. Josh Hartnett, Ismael Cruz Cordóva, and Brady Wagner are some of the actors who have been added to the cast. The script for this production was written by Nick Antosca, replacing earlier drafts from Hoover and Lauren Levine; Hillary Seitz; Angela LaManna; and Will Honley and April Maguire.

In the synopsis of the forthcoming suspenseful drama, “Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer, accepts a ghostwriting job for the famous author Verity Crawford under peculiar conditions. However, the project takes a sinister twist when she uncovers disturbing autobiographical notes.

In the story, Lowen grapples with a string of lethal family mysteries as he tries to distinguish between truth and illusion. Simultaneously, he becomes entangled with Jeremy, Verity’s spouse.

According to Variety’s reports, the creators of Verity chose its release date carefully, considering the schedules of other films coming out at the same time, such as Avengers: Doomsday, The Mandalorian, and Grogu.

Speaking about the novel, Colleen Hoover published a thrilling story in 2018 that held the top spot on the New York Best Seller list for many months. Notably, Verity is the second book by this author to be adapted into a movie, following It Ends With Us.
