As a connoisseur of life’s finer moments, I find myself compelled to share some recent developments. In my capacity as a leader in the astronomical field, I was once known as Andy Byron. Regrettably, an unexpected incident occurred at a Coldplay concert near Boston that has led to my departure from my role. The incident, which involved a playful kiss with colleague Kristin Cabot during a kiss cam moment, swiftly gained viral status on the web.
The fallout within the company was significant, prompting an official investigation into the matter. Although I deeply regret the impact this has had on my professional life, I must acknowledge that my actions were inappropriate for the public eye, regardless of the context or location. This lesson serves as a reminder to always maintain professional decorum, even during moments of spontaneity and joy.
A representative from Astronomer announced that Andy Byron stepped down, effective immediately, in a statement made to Page Six on July 19th. The Board of Directors acknowledged his resignation and will now initiate a search for our next Chief Executive Officer, with Pete DeJoy continuing as the interim CEO and co-founder until a successor is found.
The company reiterated, “Just as we’ve always done since our inception, Astronomer upholds the principles and atmosphere that define us. Our leadership is tasked with exemplifying behavior and responsibility, and unfortunately, this standard has lately been falling short.
Scandal followed Coldplay concert appearance
On Wednesday evening, Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot were spotted together on the stadium’s giant screen. When they noticed themselves being displayed, their efforts to conceal themselves sparked curiosity online. During the Coldplay performance, Chris Martin playfully commented, “They’re either secretly in a relationship or just extremely modest.
In no time, the video spread like wildfire, sparking numerous memes and lively discussions online. Even interim CEO Pete DeJoy couldn’t help but chuckle at the viral responses. Yet, things took a serious turn when Astronomer changed the tone, suspending both Byron and Cabot while initiating an official probe.
Here’s what the company said about the video rumors
Following the spread of the video, numerous individuals on the internet hypothesized that a third woman next to Cabot could have been employee Alyssa Stoddard. However, Astronomer dismissed these theories.
A company spokesperson made it clear that Alyssa was not present. They stated this rumor originated from Twitter. While there might be some resemblance in appearance between the person and Stoddard, it’s definitely not him. Therefore, the rumor is entirely unfounded due to misinformation.
On a recent LinkedIn update, the organization emphasized their current position: “Our Board of Directors has launched an official inquiry concerning this issue, and we’ll be releasing more information about it soon.
Andy Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, has lately dropped Byron from her surname on Facebook and deactivated her social media profiles following the recent controversy.
According to court documents, Kristin Cabot, an HR professional at Astronomer, finalized her divorce from Kenneth Thornby in 2022. It’s widely assumed that she is now married to Andrew Cabot, the CEO of Privateer Rum. Public records show that they jointly own a house in New Hampshire and often appear together in social media pictures with their two kids. Additionally, Kristin has been spotted wearing a wedding ring in recent posts online.
