Firaxis has unveiled significant adjustments planned for Civilization 7 in its upcoming update, version 1.2.0. This update will set the stage for a long-awaited feature: players being able to start games within the Distant Lands. Although this functionality won’t be available immediately, the developers are laying the foundation by ensuring Treasure Resources appear on all accessible landmasses in a map. These resources will function as standard resources when found in the Home Lands and as Treasure Resources when discovered in the Distant Lands.
As a fervent player, I’m thrilled about the upcoming changes that will bring more uniqueness to each hemisphere. This is achieved by having distinct resources spawn in each half, making exploration and discovery even more engaging. To spice things up further, ten brand-new resources are being added to the game, enriching the overall resource pool.
- Tin
- Rubies
- Rice
- Mangoes
- Clay
- Limestone
- Hardwood
- Wild Game
- Flax
- Llamas
In the upcoming version 1.2.0, a highly-anticipated feature will be introduced: The long-awaited team multiplayer mode! This means you’ll get to join forces with others and celebrate victories together in the Distant Lands.
In gameplay terms, adjustments to the food and growth system will lead to cities and towns expanding more consistently rather than abruptly halting, and the occurrence of natural disasters will decrease in lighter and medium difficulty levels.
After the update, handling these issues should become slightly less complicated due to the introduction of a “Repair All” button in settlements. Furthermore, improvements to user experience include a new button for upgrading all units within a Commander, display of the most recent completed building on settlement screens, research queue functionality, reduced Town Specialization notifications, highlighted tiles used to activate Great People, and additional enhancements.
Players can delight in finding the “One More Round” button at the finale of their games, offering them an opportunity to extend their engagement with their empire if they wish to do so for a little longer.
