Cillian Murphy looked sharp at the New York City premiere of the new Peaky Blinders film, The Immortal Man, on March 10th. The 49-year-old actor wore a stylish all-black outfit – a comfortable double-breasted suit, shirt, and a tie with white polka dots – completed by shiny black loafers.
Social media users were quick to compliment his fashion sense. One person on X wrote, “That tie! He’s killing it,” while another exclaimed, “OH CILLIAN MURPHY, YOU ARE AMAZING!” The look was put together by stylist Rose Forde, who has also worked with other Irish actors like Pierce Brosnan.

Though Murphy has been getting attention during promotion for Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, it was his Golden Globe appearance in January that really caught the internet’s eye. Fans quickly turned a photo of his seemingly uninterested expression on the red carpet into a popular meme.
Videos of Cillian Murphy walking with a blank expression led to humorous reactions online, with people relating it to relatable everyday experiences. One fan joked it was how they feel when starting plans they made when feeling outgoing, while another commented on Murphy’s ability to portray a remarkably cold, bored, and indifferent demeanor.

Cillian Murphy discussed the sudden attention he received in an interview with Sunday Times Culture. He admitted that he’s uncomfortable with the performative aspect of red carpets, explaining, “I’m not naturally suited to being a public personality. And frankly, having to talk about yourself and attend events like red carpets isn’t good for you if you start taking it seriously – and I struggle with that a lot.”
Cillian Murphy arrived at the red carpet event with his wife, Yvonne McGuinness, looking relaxed and stylish – a classic combination that reminds everyone why he’s so popular with fans, both as an actor and as a person.
Will Tommy Shelby destroy everything he’s built? Cillian Murphy is back as Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, hitting select cinemas on March 6th and streaming on Netflix from March 20th.
