He journeys to encounter various rulers and combatants, hoping they might have news of his father’s survival. Meanwhile, Penelope, his mother, stays at home, managing unwanted suitors who assume Odysseus is deceased. Eventually, Telemachus aids his father in battling these suitors once Odysseus makes his return.
