Universal is giving audiences an early look at Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.
Okay, so the studio is doing something really cool – they’re showing an extended preview in 70mm IMAX. It just proves how much Christopher Nolan believes in shooting on these huge, immersive formats. He really wants you to see his films the way they were meant to be seen – big and bold!

Extended Trailer Premieres in 70mm IMAX
Christopher Nolan filmed The Odyssey using only IMAX cameras, and Universal Pictures is promoting 70mm IMAX theaters as the best way to see it.
Starting December 12th, a six-minute introductory segment will play before showings of the IMAX 70mm re-releases of the films Sinners and One Battle After Another.
This preview is like a longer trailer, giving viewers the best look yet at the movie.

Shorter Preview to Accompany Avatar: Fire and Ash
Starting December 19th, Universal will show a brief preview of a new adaptation of The Odyssey before every showing of Avatar: Fire and Ash.
The complete, longer trailer will only be shown during IMAX screenings of James Cameron’s movie.
Shifting the release date gives Christopher Nolan’s film the best chance to reach a wide audience during a busy time in December, and it also lets IMAX viewers see it before anyone else.
