
Christopher Nolan has shared the initial trailer for his upcoming movie, The Odyssey. The film is a big-screen adaptation of the classic poem by Homer.
This film retells the classic myth with stunning visuals made possible by the latest IMAX technology, and will be released globally on July 17, 2026.

Nolan Brings Homer’s Epic To IMAX
The new film, The Odyssey, is a large-scale action adventure filmed in multiple locations using the latest IMAX camera technology. It’s the first time the classic story of Homer’s Odyssey has been presented on IMAX, and it continues director Christopher Nolan’s tradition of creating immersive, large-format movie experiences.
The trailer showcases grand settings, real-world filming locations, and demanding physical acting, all hallmarks of Nolan’s directing style, instead of relying heavily on computer-generated imagery.

Stacked Cast Led By Matt Damon
The movie boasts a star-studded cast including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron.

Written And Directed By Christopher Nolan
Nolan was the writer and director of The Odyssey. Emma Thomas and Nolan produced the film through their company, Syncopy, with Thomas Hayslip as executive producer.

Release Date
The movie The Odyssey will debut in cinemas on July 17, 2026, and will be widely available in IMAX format.
