I was surprised to see Chris Noth talking about his issues with Sarah Jessica Parker again! He spoke at a fashion show in New York City recently, and he really opened up about leaving the Sex and the City world. He actually told the Daily Mail he felt lucky his character, Mr. Big, was written off so early in And Just Like That – right in the first episode, actually.
The actor seemed cheerful at the charity event and jokingly said he was actually relieved he hadn’t been more involved in the show’s reboot. This comes years after the series received mixed reviews and concluded its original run.
He was originally planned to make a cameo in a fantasy scene during the first season finale, but those scenes were cut after allegations of sexual assault against him surfaced in late 2021.
When asked about the possibility of repairing his relationship with Parker, Noth was direct, saying there was no chance and that their connection was finished. This comes after a public incident in January where he seemed to agree with a fan criticizing Parker’s Golden Globe award. He later claimed his response was just a bit of sarcasm that created unnecessary drama, but it’s clear the two former co-stars are no longer on good terms.
The situation escalated when Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis released a joint statement responding to the accusations. Chris Noth recently shared on the “Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson” podcast that he was deeply hurt Parker didn’t contact him personally. He felt the cast’s public support of his accusers was simply about protecting their image, and he was disappointed that after decades of friendship, he didn’t even receive a phone call.
Noth explained that in a place like Hollywood, you’d expect to hear the truth from a close friend before seeing them publicly criticize you. He said he wouldn’t have treated her that way, and he felt the lack of communication was deeply painful and ultimately damaged their friendship.
Even though there was conflict with the show’s female lead, Chris Noth seems to be getting along well with other cast members. At a recent fashion show, he chatted with Mario Cantone, who played Anthony Marentino. Cantone told reporters that there’s absolutely no bad blood between them and that he was genuinely happy to see Noth there. Noth also shared that he still keeps in touch with John Corbett and even wished Kim Cattrall a happy birthday a few months ago.
Chris Noth is returning to acting after a period away from the public eye. He recently finished filming a new horror movie called “The Block,” his first significant role since 2021. Directed by Craig Singer, the film features Noth alongside Jack Falahee, Jackie Earle Haley, and Elias Koteas. The story centers on a horror writer who finds inspiration again after a strange occurrence, but discovers that this newfound creativity comes with a sinister cost.
