Chris Evans and Josh Brolin Are Competing Over Who Can Play More Comic Book Characters, and We’re 100% Sure You Can’t Name All of Them

As a seasoned gamer and comic book enthusiast with decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that Chris Evans has truly outdone himself in the realm of comic book adaptations. With eight diverse roles under his belt, from Johnny Storm to Captain America, he’s not just playing a game; he’s setting records!

The cinematic adventure of Chris Evans as Captain America, beginning with his solo film debut and evolving into one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) pivotal characters until his retirement in Endgame, where he decided to reside in the past with Peggy, was nothing short of epic. Regardless of what Evans takes on next, Captain America will forever be a cherished role for him, recognized as one of his most enduring and admired performances throughout his career.

Simultaneously, it’s worth noting that Josh Brolin, much like Evans, has a substantial career in comic book movies. However, Brolin’s most notable role is Thanos, although he hasn’t been limited to just this character. Interestingly, while it wasn’t unexpected for Evans to join the comic book realm, Brolin tends to take on more serious or intricate roles. This made his involvement in the superhero world a pleasant surprise and added depth to the genre of comic book characters.

Despite the fact that both Evans and Broling have appeared in numerous comic book films, are you aware of exactly how many roles they’ve taken on and which one played the most? To discover their respective counts, keep going!

To proceed further, could you tell us what led to the creation of this report? Typically, it was sparked by a tweet, and I’d like to share the one that initiated it with you: [Tweet Content]

Legally, you’re not allowed to play more than 4 comic book movie characters

It’s evident from the tweet that Josh Brolin, who has portrayed four different comic book characters thus far, seems to hold the record for the most comic book roles in a movie. He previously played Jonah Hex, a character from DC Comics, a younger version of Agent K in a Men in Black film (which is based on a six-issue comic), Thanos within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Cable in the X-Men universe from Fox. More recently, there are reports suggesting that he might be cast as Hal Jordan in Gunn’s DCU, which would bring his comic book roles to five.

However, it turns out that another individual surpassed the record previously attributed to Brolin, as you’ll find out further down.

It seems like Chris Evans should be at the top of the “Wish List” or “Desired List.”

Absolutely! Chris Evans has taken on eight distinct comic book characters throughout his career. He portrayed Johnny Storm in the initial Fantastic Four films, lent his voice to Casey Jones, a well-known Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles character, and played Lucas Lee in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Additionally, he portrayed Nick Grant, an original character at the time but later incorporated into comics, Jake Jensen in Losers, Curtis Everett in Snowpiercer, and, of course, Steve Rogers/Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the MCU, he also appeared as a Loki disguised as Captain America.

Regardless of whether Brolin takes on the Hal Jordan character, Chris Evans, who has made eight appearances so far, remains unparalleled, standing alone at the top.
