Chilling 911 Call Details Catherine O’Hara’s Breathing Struggle Before Hospitalization

Catherine O’Hara passed away Friday at the age of 71 after a short illness. She was hospitalized earlier that morning following a medical issue at her Los Angeles home, according to her agency, CAA.

The incident occurred at the actress’s home in Brentwood around 4:48 a.m. Paramedics were called and arrived after receiving reports that she was experiencing difficulty breathing.

I was really saddened to hear the news. Apparently, a woman in her early 70s was rushed to the hospital by paramedics after an incident. Sadly, the Creative Arts Agency confirmed she passed away a few hours later. It’s just a really tough story.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call for medical help and transported the patient to the hospital immediately. They didn’t share any information about the patient’s condition.

It had been several months since anyone had seen O’Hara in public. Her last major event was the Emmy Awards in September, where some viewers noticed she appeared quite frail. She also missed the Golden Globe Awards on January 11th, even though she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her work in The Studio.

After the news of her passing was announced, many people shared their condolences. Macaulay Culkin, who starred as her son in Home Alone, posted a heartfelt message on Instagram. He included photos of them together from different times and wrote, “Mama. I thought we had more time. I wanted to sit with you and tell you everything. I heard you, but I still had so much to say. I love you. I’ll see you again.”

Pedro Pascal, a co-star with O’Hara in the next season of The Last of Us, also posted a tribute online. He wrote, “Being near your genius was a gift. I’m forever grateful. My world feels dimmer without you, but this fortunate world will always remember you. Always.”

Justin Theroux, who acted with Catherine O’Hara in the movie Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, shared a picture of her unoccupied chair on the set, along with a heartfelt message saying how much she would be missed.

O’Hara was experiencing a resurgence in her career lately. She received excellent reviews for her work on Seth Rogen’s Apple TV+ show, The Studio, and made a guest appearance as a therapist on the second season of HBO’s The Last of Us. She also starred in the film Argylle and reprised her iconic role as Delia Deetz in the 2024 Beetlejuice Beetlejuice movie.

Catherine O’Hara, born in Toronto in 1954, first gained recognition on the sketch comedy show SCTV, working alongside Eugene Levy. She went on to star in popular films like Best in Show and achieved even wider fame as Moira Rose in the hit series Schitt’s Creek, a performance that won her several Emmy Awards. She is remembered by her husband, Bo Welch, a production designer, and their two sons, Matthew and Luke.
