Cher Reveals Farrah Fawcett Wanted to Spend Her Last Days in Her House? Here’s Why Ryan O’Neal ‘Denied’ It

As a dedicated fan of both Cher and Farrah Fawcett, I find myself deeply moved by the poignant tale that Cher has shared from her memoir. The bond between these two extraordinary women transcends time, their friendship blooming on the set of “The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour” in 1972.

Cher is revealing an unheard-before wish that Farrah Fawcett had before she passed away. The singer first met the actress in 1972 when Fawcett made a guest appearance on the show “The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour.” More than ten years after Fawcett’s passing, her friend has now shared one of her final wishes that took place before her untimely demise.

In her memoir, Cher explained that Farrah Fawcett expressed a desire to spend her final days at Cher’s home due to one specific reason. She penned, “When Farrah was ill, she would request to spend her last days in my residence because she longed to gaze upon the ocean.” Regrettably, this wish did not come true as per Cher’s account, as Farrah’s partner at the time, Ryan O’Neal, rejected the idea, stating, “If she wants to see the ocean, she could stay at my house instead.

For several decades, the leading actress from Charlie’s Angels had an on-and-off relationship with O’Neal. Their romance began in 1979, resulting in a son named Redmond born in 1985. Unfortunately, their relationship ended in 1997 due to O’Neal’s infidelity with actress Leslie Stefanson. However, they rekindled their relationship in 2001 after the actor was diagnosed with Leukemia.

In September 2006, Fawcett received a diagnosis of anal cancer, and she sadly passed away in the year 2009. Farrah and Ryan had an up-and-down relationship that spanned over time, but during her final days, they were together. Later on, O’Neal lost his life in December 2023.
