As a gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the upcoming series, “Daredevil: Born Again,” has piqued my interest more than any other Marvel show in recent memory. The original concept sounded like a misguided attempt at comedy, but the decision to reboot and stick to the gritty, action-packed roots of the character is a breath of fresh air.
In six months, anticipation for the show “Daredevil: Born Again” is starting to rise, as fans eagerly await its arrival. The original cast will be back, with Charlie Cox once again playing Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio returning as the menacing Kingpin, and both Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll set to reprise their roles as Foggy and Karen, respectively.
The initial adaptation of “Daredevil: Born Again” was abandoned during production after only filming around half of its episodes, as it didn’t engage viewers or match the original tone of Netflix’s Daredevil series. It appears that the concept was intended to be a blend of comedy and courtroom drama with reduced Daredevil action scenes.
Typically, I don’t express opinions about things I haven’t experienced, but this initial proposal appears to be utterly disorganized! Luckily, the higher-ups acknowledged this and re-filmed a significant portion of the production, reintroducing familiar characters as antagonists while setting the appropriate mood.
This year’s New York Comic Con attendees were given a sneak peek of the “Daredevil: Born Again” trailer (you can also watch it by clicking this link). The preview seems to match up with the rumors, leaks, and actor insights, suggesting that the series will be full of intense action, brutal violence, and a raw, gritty style.
At the very same gathering, Charlie Cox mentioned that certain aspects of the series were going to be a “Disney+ first.
We’re carrying forward the brooding atmosphere from the initial Netflix series. It will be equally gloomy and intense. We put in a lot of effort to achieve this tone, which is why we’re really looking forward to it.
The question I’m asked most frequently is whether it will resemble the original series in terms of darkness. Without a doubt, the answer is affirmative. The show indeed carries a dark tone, and we push boundaries by doing things that have never been done before on Disney+.

In addition, it was disclosed that Cox’s role will feature the use of a strong language, specifically the F-word, on the show. Although Deadpool had previously employed this term a few months back, this would mark the initial occasion in a Disney+ series where such language is used.
In response to whether a profanity was used in Episode 1, Cox clarified that none were present initially. However, he hinted at its potential inclusion in future episodes and playfully suggested that there may be plans for another season of Daredevil: Born Again.
“It is not, but it was shocking to me. It’s almost under my breath, but you can hear it. I was like, ‘Oh wow. Great!’ Good to know for Season 2.”
It’s no wonder these comments are being made, considering the show’s producer hinted at intense action several months ago, and Vincent D’Onofrio himself suggested surprise that certain scenes they shot ended up in the final version, possibly because of their graphic nature.
In case you recall, the show “Echo” had gritty and intense scenes, leading to a TV-MA rating. There’s a strong chance that “Daredevil: Born Again” might adopt a comparable approach.
