In the upcoming series “Daredevil: Born Again” on Disney Plus, Charlie Cox reprises his role as Daredevil, a character he played in the popular Netflix series that concluded in 2018. Fans can look forward to seeing the Man Without Fear put on his famous costume again as the show aims to present a new perspective on Matt Murdock’s tale.
In an interview with SFX magazine, which showcases Daredevil: Born Again on its cover and is available from January 29th, Cox expressed his enthusiasm about resuming his role. “I feel refreshed, fortunate, and grateful that I’m still being allowed to portray this character,” he stated.
For an actor, the variety of roles I often encounter is quite unusual. One moment, I’m portraying a lawyer, the next I’m delving into intense emotional scenes with romantic interests, and before you know it, I’m donning the superhero costume and jumping off buildings. Every bit of it fills me with joy.
For over a decade, Cox has portrayed Daredevil and he’s eager about the character’s ongoing development. Typically, after ten years of playing a character, things begin to slow down. However, for us, it’s quite the contrary. I wonder which will exhaust first—Marvel’s confidence in us or our physical endurance! he quipped jokingly.
When questioned if Daredevil might someday head the Avengers, Cox couldn’t contain his enthusiasm. “That would be incredible,” he replied, sparking discussions on what Matt Murdock’s destiny could hold within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Currently, our attention is centered around the upcoming series “Daredevil: Born Again,” set to debut in the US on March 4 and in the UK on March 5. For further insights into the show and Cox’s perspectives, pick up the most recent issue of SFX magazine, available on January 29.
