Charli XCX turned heads at the Berlin International Film Festival on February 13th while promoting her film, The Moment. The award-winning pop star wore a striking sheer lace dress that quickly became a favorite subject for photographers, solidifying her place as one of the festival’s most stylish and buzzed-about attendees.
The premiere for the film took place at the famous Zoo Palast, with director Aidan Zamiri and the cast – including Alexander Skarsgård, Rosanna Arquette, Hailey Benton Gates, Jamie Demetriou, Rachel Sennott, Kate Berlant, Rish Shah, and a surprise appearance by Kylie Jenner – all in attendance. Variety reported that the press room was crowded with reporters hoping to speak with Charli about the movie and her work.

During a recent interview, Charli D’Amelio opened up about the emotional impact of her Brat album. She explained that when you share creative work with a large audience, its meaning can shift and evolve. She added that the album’s success made her reconsider how she connects with her own art. Charli also described herself as a passionate and sometimes turbulent artist, and admitted that certain parts of the album’s journey were challenging for her.
Charli explained that creating The Moment helped her work through her experiences in the music industry and think about how her art lives on. She said she’s moved past the Brat era and that the film let her express her frustrations by creating dramatic, made-up situations.
She playfully mentioned fully immersing herself in the role, suggesting some of her experiences off-screen were similar to what’s shown in the film. She admitted to having a difficult moment – even a breakdown – in a van while smoking heavily, but added with a laugh, “I think I’m a nicer person than the character!”
Director Aidan Zamiri was impressed with Kylie Jenner’s appearance in the film, calling her a surprisingly talented actress and explaining that her involvement helped make the movie feel more real. Charli D’Amelio also spoke highly of the Berlin Film Festival, praising its commitment to showing films that deal with important social and political issues. She shared with the audience that she and her team are passionate about supporting this kind of filmmaking, and she’s excited to be getting involved.
The new film, The Moment, recently premiered at the Berlinale film festival, following its debut at Sundance last month. It tells the story of a pop star dealing with the challenges of being famous. During a press conference, the film’s star, Charli, shared personal thoughts and details about how the movie was made, giving fans a deeper understanding of her artistry and the person behind the performance.
Just got back from Berlinale 2026, and wow, Charli XCX really impressed me. She’s always been a pop star, of course, but seeing her work showcased there, it’s clear she’s a genuinely thoughtful artist. She doesn’t shy away from exploring the tougher sides of being famous and the creative process – she tackles them head-on, and it’s really powerful.
