Chaos Zero Nightmare director promises “darker and more unsettling” stories

The highly anticipated mobile and PC game, Chaos Zero Nightmare, often described as a Darkest Dungeon anime adaptation, is scheduled to release on October 22, 2025. Game director Kim Hyung Suk recently addressed fans, aiming to temper expectations after the troubled launch of the gacha game Stella Sora.

Kim shared that testers felt the story was too lighthearted and lacked enough content during the recent test. The team is taking this feedback seriously and is already working on improvements for future updates. This includes creating more in-depth stories – like Trauma Code, Messenger, and Excursion – that will explore the characters and show different facets of their personalities.

So, the developer, Kim, told me the story isn’t going to stay light and fluffy. Apparently, as I play, things are going to get seriously creepy and I’ll start uncovering some really unsettling stuff. Sounds awesome, honestly!

Although the game isn’t quite as grim as some players initially expected, the developers plan to make it darker in the future.

I’m so hyped for CZN! I’ve been following it because of its really cool, dark atmosphere, and it finally comes out tomorrow! The good news is, you can actually download it right now, so you’re ready to go as soon as it launches.
