Channing Tatum Hypes Avengers: Doomsday, Calls It ‘Times 50’ Bigger Than Deadpool

Channing Tatum, reprising his role as Gambit in Avengers: Doomsday, is the newest actor to hint at just how large and ambitious Marvel’s next big team-up movie will be.

Speaking with ET Online, Tatum said the film raises the bar beyond anything Marvel has done before.

Marvel consistently raised the stakes with each film, and somehow surpassed expectations every time,” Tatum explained. “I have to admit, while reading the script, I kept thinking, ‘How are they going to pull this off?! I genuinely don’t see how it’s possible.’ You’re just not prepared for what’s coming.”

“Brains Ooze Out of Your Ears”

Tatum likened the scope of Doomsday to the surprising appearance of Blade in Deadpool & Wolverine, assuring fans that the upcoming project will be even more impressive.

He said the movie will be incredibly mind-blowing, comparing the reaction to when Blade appears in Deadpool & Wolverine – people will be completely overwhelmed. He estimates it will be 50 times more intense. “It’s just going to be one of those experiences,” he added. “And the story… I can’t reveal anything, but as a comic book fan, you’re not prepared for what’s coming.”

Who’s the On-Set Troublemaker?

The interview became more relaxed when Tatum was asked to name the biggest prankster on set. He began to mention someone whose name starts with the letter “D”, but then quickly changed his mind. “I can’t say,” he said with a laugh.
