Channing Tatum Explains How He Would Compete In Olympics If He Was Sent As A Breakdancer: ‘Would Do A Lot Of Stripper Moves’

As a die-hard fan who has watched Channing Tatum‘s electrifying dance moves since his debut in Step Up, I must say it’s a pity that he wasn’t part of the breakdancing competition at the Paris Olympics 2024. It seems like a missed opportunity considering his unparalleled dancing skills and the sheer entertainment value he could have brought to the table.

Ever since the breakdancing event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, a video featuring an Australian competitor has become a topic of widespread discussion, but unfortunately, not in a positive light. There’s been a lot of chatter suggesting that Channing Tatum should have represented Team USA instead, had he participated in the competition.

It’s no wonder given his exceptional dance abilities, showcased repeatedly throughout his illustrious career, that he was questioned about competing in the Olympics for breakdancing. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor addressed these queries.

In response to his Blink Twice co-star, Naomi Ackie, suggesting he was skilled at the dance style mentioned earlier, Tatum humorously replied, “That would be awesome,” implying he found it flattering. However, he jokingly admitted that he might resort to doing stripper moves instead.

During this year’s Olympics, the breakdancing contest sparked numerous memes, transforming it into a meme-filled event. This led many to question the qualifications of the Australian breakdancer who participated in the Games.

Furthermore, not only did people talk about her, but numerous celebrities such as Adele also expressed their thoughts on her. As reported by the outlet, the singer enthusiastically declared that the introduction of this sport was “fantastic” and revealed that she and her friends had been laughing hysterically for almost 24 hours.

In addition to Adele, Chloe Fineman – a member of Saturday Night Live – posted a satirical take of the competitor on her social platform. Meanwhile, another SNL veteran, Rachel Dratch, offered her unique portrayal during an interruption of Jimmy Fallon’s monologue on his show.

In terms of his professional life, it’s been announced that Channing Tatum will feature in the upcoming movie “Blink Twice,” directed by his fiancée and actress Zoe Kravitz. This film falls under the categories of thriller and suspense. Besides Tatum and Ackie, other stars include Adria Arjona, Haley Joel Osment, Christian Slater, Alia Shawkar, and Levon Hawke. The release date is scheduled for August 23, 2024.
