Channing Tatum Calls Out Ex-wife Jenna Dewan For ‘Delay Tactic’ in Divorce Proceedings

As someone who has followed Channing Tatum‘s career closely, it’s disheartening to see such a public and seemingly bitter legal battle between him and his ex-wife Jenna Dewan. Their divorce case seems to be far from amicable, with both parties accusing each other of delay tactics and financial mismanagement regarding the Magic Mike franchise.

Channing Tatum and his former spouse, Jenna Dewan, find themselves embroiled in a contentious dispute after their divorce proceedings.

The performer from the film “Blink Twice” alleges that his former spouse, Jenna Dewan, is intentionally stalling the divorce process, after she submitted her most recent petition in their continuing financial and legal dispute.

Dewan claims that she, along with Tatum, jointly financed and developed the Magic Mike intellectual property during their marriage. Now, she’s filed a lawsuit stating that Tatum is not giving her an equal share. Her legal team argues this point in court. Interestingly, she wants the judge to remove Tatum’s lawyers from the case, which she has done just three months before their trial.

In reaction to Dewan’s allegations, Tatum also submitted a court document, seeking the judge to reject her appeal as it merely aims to prolong their divorce process.

In court records obtained by E! News and People, Tatum expressed disapproval towards Dewan’s strategy, describing it as a “stall tactic.” He believed this move was an attempt to “mislead the court” and postpone their impending divorce trial. Additionally, he denied any allegations made by his ex-wife that he was withholding her share of the joint assets or income.

The text goes on to clarify that Dewan was never a client of either law firm where Tatum sought advice. This means they can’t have any confidential details about her, which could potentially give them an edge in this matter.

“To put it simply, the petition presented by the party in question lacks any legal or factual foundation, and its sole purpose appears to be stalling the imminent trial in this case.”

In the same document, the 43-year-old actor requested that his co-actor, Dewan, reimburse him $20,000 for the legal expenses caused by her delay, expressing a hope that this payment would discourage such actions in the future.

Since May this year, there’s been an intense court struggle between them over issues related to ownership and shares of the Magic Mike franchise. The franchise, which started with the 2012 film by the same name featuring Channing Tatum, was jointly owned by Tatum and his former wife Dewan. They extended the movie into two sequels, a reality show, and a Las Vegas attraction.

Back in May 2024, I found myself compelled to file a separate petition, leveling some pretty heavy allegations against none other than the dazzling Channing Tatum. You know him as the charismatic star of the Magic Mike films, but apparently, there’s more to his story than meets the eye.

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan first crossed paths on the film set of Step Up back in 2006. They exchanged vows in 2009 and became parents to their daughter, Everly, born in 2013. However, their marriage ended in 2018 with a divorce that was finalized the following year. Since then, they’ve been entangled in various legal matters surrounding Tatum’s movie Magic Mike and their divorce proceedings. Now, Tatum is in a relationship with actress Zoë Kravitz, and they got engaged in 2023.
