Celine Dion celebrated the holidays in a fun way this week! She posted a video on Instagram of herself dressed up as the Grinch, sporting vibrant green makeup and posing by a cozy fireplace.
In the video, Celine Dion begins by performing a spoken-sung version of the chorus to her song “All by Myself.” She then playfully imitates a scene listing the Grinch’s busy schedule from the 2000 film How the Grinch Stole Christmas, which starred Jim Carrey.
She’s playfully holding her little dog, who’s dressed in antlers like Max from How the Grinch Stole Christmas. She then jokingly lists her packed schedule for the day: vocal exercises at 4:00, waking up her kids at 4:30, secretly solving world hunger at 5:00, a jazzercise class at 5:30, dinner (which she insists she can’t reschedule!), and finally, battling her own creative thoughts at 7:00.

She goes on to say, “I’m fully scheduled! But if I moved my brainstorming session to 9:00, I’d still have time to relax in bed and endlessly scroll through TikTok. Or, I could just wish everyone happy holidays… which would be pretty dull!” The video concludes with Dion returning to sing “All by Myself,” specifically the line, “When I was young, I never needed anyone.”
As a lifelong movie and music fan, I remember when Eric Carmen first released “All by Myself” back in 1975 – it almost topped the charts, hitting number two on the Billboard Hot 100! But for a lot of people, especially here in the States, the version they know best is Celine Dion’s cover. She included it on her Falling into You album in 1996, and it’s definitely one of her signature songs.
