During the State of Unreal 2025 event, CD Projekt RED showcased previews for what appears to be The Witcher 4. They presented both a cinematic and gameplay demo, both filmed at 60 frames per second on PlayStation 5. The visual elements utilized in this engine-generated footage will be accessible across all platforms where the game is planned for release, ensuring that no exclusive features are limited to PS5 players.
To avoid any confusion about the game’s true experience: The “gameplay” video (not reflecting actual gameplay) primarily focuses on Ciri strolling through a bustling town, offering little in terms of action, but it still showcases the stunning visuals that players can anticipate from the game.
You can find the footage from The Witcher 4 about 30 minutes into the livestream embedded below.
CD Projekt Red announced that the tech demo is set in the area known as Kovir, a fresh location within the game franchise. In this demo, we follow Ciri and her loyal steed, Kelpie, as they head towards the coastal town of Valdrest.
Epic Games and CDPR have collaborated closely to fine-tune Unreal Engine 5 specifically for this game, and the outstanding performance is evident.
