CBS has renewed its popular drama NCIS for a 24th season! This means fans will continue to see the original series, making it one of the longest-running dramas ever on television.
Great news for fans of the NCIS universe! I’m happy to report that both NCIS: Origins will be back for a third season, and NCIS: Sydney has been renewed for a fourth. CBS and Paramount+ just made the official announcements, so it’s all confirmed!
CBS announced a large number of show renewals today, bringing back eleven series in total. Returning favorites include the dramas Tracker, Elsbeth, and Matlock, along with the reality hits Survivor and The Amazing Race. The comedy Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage will also be back for a third season.
NCIS continues with its familiar faces, including stars Sean Murray, Wilmer Valderrama, and Gary Cole. The series centers on special agents investigating crimes related to the Navy and Marine Corps. Originally created by Donald P. Bellisario, it’s still a popular show and will reach a milestone this March with its 500th episode.
NCIS: Origins explores the early career of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, taking viewers back to the 1990s. Austin Stowell stars as the younger Gibbs, with Mark Harmon, who originally played the character, providing narration. According to CBS, the show offers a glimpse into Gibbs’ life before the events of the original NCIS series.
I’m really enjoying NCIS: Sydney! It’s such a cool take on the original, bringing an international vibe to the whole franchise. The show’s now starting its fourth season, and it’s all about this team of American and Australian agents working together down under. Olivia Swann and Todd Lasance are fantastic as the leads, and they’re always dealing with really intense cases in a seriously bustling part of the ocean.
CBS is renewing a lot of its shows, but recently canceled the spin-off NCIS: Tony & Ziva. The network seems to be prioritizing the success of its traditional TV programs over focusing solely on shows for streaming. CBS remains a popular network, airing some of the highest-rated shows on television.
Fire Country has been renewed for a fifth season, continuing the story of Bode, an ex-convict working with a firefighting program to rebuild his life and give back to his community. Despite a change in the original lead producer, the drama will remain a key part of CBS’s Friday night programming.
