CBS Delays Hollywood Squares Reboot Premiere Due to California Wildfires; Telecast To Happen On THIS Date

CBS has changed its prime-time lineup, pushing back the premiere date of the eagerly awaited revival of Hollywood Squares. Initially scheduled for Thursday, January 9, the program is now set to be aired on Thursday, January 16 instead.

The network chose to adjust the tone of the show because of the recent wildfires affecting Los Angeles, finding it insensitive given the heavy news coverage of the California disaster.

Due to a delay, CBS has adjusted its TV schedule for January 9th. Here’s the updated plan:

[Followed by the revised schedule details]

  • 8 pm: Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage (encore)
  • 8:30 pm: Ghosts (encore)
  • 9 pm: Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage (encore)
  • 9:30 pm: Ghosts (encore)
  • 10 pm: Matlock (encore)

During this transition period, viewers can still delight in their beloved classics as they eagerly wait for the upcoming debut of Hollywood Squares.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’m thrilled to share that the revamped version of the iconic game show, “Hollywood Squares,” is set to debut on January 16! First airing on NBC back in 1966, this timeless TV gem sees two competitors battling it out in a tic-tac-toe-style format, with popular personalities gracing the squares. The celebrities respond to questions, and it’s up to the players to decide whether their answers are on the money. Correct guesses can lead to winning cold hard cash and tantalizing prizes!

Starting January 29th, Hollywood Squares will move to airing on Wednesdays as part of CBS’s Game Night lineup. It will follow The Price Is Right at Night and Raid the Cage. Nate Burleson from CBS Mornings will be the show’s host, with Drew Barrymore occupying the famous center square.
