Honestly, I was immediately worried when I saw Phyla-Vell was a playable character. As a long-time fan of Marvel Cosmic, I know she’s not a favorite among fans, and it felt…off. It seemed like the developers just needed an LGBTQ+ character, and instead of building on someone already popular like Moondragon, they shoehorned Phyla in. It didn’t feel organic, and that was a big disappointment for me.

I was really excited to hear at a Warner Bros. Discovery event in New York that the Lanterns series is now planned for late summer 2026 on both HBO and Max. Unfortunately, they didn’t give us a specific date just yet, but knowing it’s coming in ’26 is a good start!
