That’s a devastating fall for a $105M movie that needs at least $262.5M worldwide just to break even.

I’ve been following all the chatter online about who’s going to be running DC, Warner Bros., HBO, and everything else Warner Bros. Discovery owns – it’s been a huge topic lately, and this news finally addresses some of it.

Warner Bros. Discovery is now for sale, and it’s interesting to note that Zack Snyder has been very active on Instagram, sharing old DC Universe images and engaging with fans who are comparing his films to the currently underperforming DC Universe projects led by James Gunn. Sources suggest that if Warner Bros. Discovery is sold, James Gunn would likely lose his position as head of DC Studios.

Episode four, “The Great Swirling Apparatus of Our Planet’s Function,” is the season’s midpoint. The show has quickly become popular with viewers who appreciate its creepy story, mounting suspense, and a familiar feel that ties into the larger universe created by Stephen King.

Directed by Michael Chaves, the movie brings back Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as Ed and Lorraine Warren, the famous paranormal investigators. The story is inspired by the well-known Smurl Haunting and focuses on the Warrens as they investigate a frightening supernatural occurrence linked to one of their earliest cases. The cast also includes Mia Tomlinson, Ben Hardy, Tony Spera, and others.

The film’s opening weekend earnings were significantly lower than initially expected, falling far short of the projected $20 million. This is especially concerning considering the movie cost a hefty $110 million to produce. To simply recoup its costs, the film needs to earn around $275 million globally, a target it’s currently unlikely to reach.

Discussion quickly intensified online after new, supposedly leaked images surfaced, including one appearing to show Maguire wearing the Spider-Man suit with new damage from a fight.

Reports suggest Bang is being considered for a role in the upcoming 2027 film. DC Studios is still holding auditions and hasn’t made any final casting choices yet.

According to a report from Deadline about a potential spin-off series starring Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, the show was tentatively titled “DC Crime.” However, James Gunn quickly clarified on Threads that this wasn’t the correct title.

Coogler jokingly said he’d normally give a standard ‘no comment’ response, but then confirmed they are indeed actively working on the next film. He essentially admitted it’s happening.
