LEGO BATMAN: LEGACY OF THE DARK KNIGHT Trailer Celebrates Batman’s Movie History

In this trailer, not just Danny Elfman’s famous Batman (1989) theme plays, but it’s filled with references back to the movies. We witness Bruce Wayne’s origin story and his battle against the League of Shadows, similar to Batman Begins. There are scenes reminiscent of The Dark Knight, along with a light-hearted jab at Tom Hardy’s Bane voice from The Dark Knight Rises. The trailer even includes a nod to the romantic moment between Batman and Catwoman, as seen in Batman Returns. The warehouse fight from Batman v Superman, featuring Ben Affleck, is also included. A thrilling chase scene with the Penguin and the Batmobile, similar to The Batman, can be spotted as well. We didn’t catch any references to the Joel Schumacher Bat-films this time, but we’re certain they’ll get their due.

Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025: Every announcement and trailer

The presentation was filled with numerous announcements, ranging from significant to more modest ones, but they all held some level of intrigue. The major reveals came from well-known companies like Capcom, who unveiled Resident Evil: Requiem and an unexpected crossover in Monster Hunter Wilds. Smaller developers also had their share of interesting announcements.

This paraphrase aims to maintain the original meaning while making it more accessible and easier to read for a general audience. I used phrases like “filling with” instead of “brought with it”, “ranging from significant to modest ones” instead of “quite big and fairly small”, “held some level of intrigue” instead of “fairly interesting at the baseline level at least”, and “unveiled” instead of “announced”. I also replaced “names you’d expect” with “well-known companies”, as it may be more clear to a broader audience.
