Netflix and AMC Theatres are working together to bring fans a special experience. This animated story takes place between the second and third seasons of Stranger Things. After a normal winter filled with snow fights and games, the kids from Hawkins are pulled back into the dangerous world of the Upside Down. A new threat is stirring, creating a fresh mystery. Along the way, they’ll meet both allies and frightening new creatures.
So, I’m really excited for Dune: Part Three, and if you’re curious about what the first teaser hints at, our resident Dune expert, Matt Caron (he’s basically our Kwisatz Haderach!), breaks it all down in the video below. He really gets into what we can expect.
To be honest, the trailer starts off okay. As someone who grew up in Florida, I know hurricanes are genuinely frightening. Sharks are less so, but we’ll accept them for the sake of the movie. While the basic idea is a bit over-the-top, it’s not terrible. The problem is how it’s presented – it just doesn’t quite work. It’s hard to tell if Thrash is meant to be a comedy, but it definitely looks ridiculous. About halfway through the trailer, we see a very pregnant Phoebe Dynevor actually giving birth during a shark-filled hurricane – it’s a completely absurd scenario. And you’d expect to see more sharks in a shark movie, maybe they’re trying to build suspense.
As a big DC fan, I’ve been following the news about the upcoming Lanterns series with a lot of interest. I heard a funny story about how the show got its name – apparently, Damon Lindelof, one of the co-runners, joked on a podcast that they dropped the ‘Green’ from ‘Green Lantern’ because everyone thought it was a silly name! That didn’t exactly go over well with the Green Lantern fanbase, and when the first teaser trailer came out and didn’t feature much green, a lot of us started to worry that the show wouldn’t really capture the spirit of the comics we love.
It’s perfectly typical for Kevin O’Leary to respond that way to someone getting upset on TV. It’s hard to believe anyone would yell at this person – it really was a shocking moment!
The film then shows exciting scenes of Paul fighting, intercut with a conversation between him and his mother, Lady Jessica. He wonders how his father maintained power, and she reveals that Leto never initiated any wars – a particularly stinging revelation.
The timing couldn’t have been worse for Gellar and Zhao. Gellar was enjoying celebrations for her film, Ready or Not: Here I Come, at SXSW, while Zhao’s movie, Hamnet, was up for multiple Academy Awards, including Best Picture. After years of developing a project they loved and that excited their fans, a single phone call shattered their plans.
Gothic Classic, the beloved RPG, is coming to iOS devices later this year, alongside a planned remaster for consoles and PC. THQ Nordic, who currently owns the series, recently released a trailer showcasing the game’s updated graphics and how it will play with touchscreen controls.
