Then I realized it was a reversed message that spelled out “It Wants To Be Heard.” Considering I’ve had some spooky experiences before, my first thought was, “Seriously?” Luckily, it wasn’t a real haunting – it was a clever teaser for the trailer of A24’s new horror podcast movie, undertone. (And yes, the title is intentionally all lowercase.)
Let’s begin by highlighting a strong point: Holly Hunter is excellent as the Captain. A seasoned Academy Award winner, she’s consistently delivered memorable performances for years. She brings just the right energy and spirit to the role. Despite being only 5’2”, Hunter is a dynamic performer who cleverly uses her size to inform her character. She’s small enough to comfortably curl up in her captain’s chair – something taller captains like Picard and Burnham couldn’t do! This immediately establishes a unique characteristic, suggesting she’s a capable leader who isn’t concerned with strict formality.
Netflix recently released all episodes of Stranger Things on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), as reported by Deadline. This move has likely disappointed fans who were holding out for a specific event called “Conformity Gate” to occur on a predicted date. While that date has passed without incident, it’s unlikely these fans will abandon the theory entirely. They’ll probably just shift the expected date, similar to how some interpretations of the Rapture change over time. It’s a case of dedicated fans finding ways to keep the hope alive.
Sarah Michelle Gellar clarified that the new Buffy series isn’t a sequel, a reboot, or a restart – it’s a continuation of the original story. She explained the show will explore Buffy’s current life and the state of the world, both with and without her involvement. It won’t immediately focus on the original characters, and the title, Buffy: New Sunnydale, reflects this – it’s still Buffy’s story, but in a new context. Despite this description, the series seems to function as a legacy sequel, introducing a new generation of characters, like Ryan Kiera Armstrong, alongside returning characters acting as mentors.
I really enjoyed the Fellowship of the Rings Trick-Taking Game in 2025. It’s a beautifully designed game with a campaign format that lets you play through 18 scenarios following Frodo’s journey. A sequel, based on The Two Towers, is coming out in early 2026. The game is easy to learn: each player controls a unique character with specific goals, and everyone has to achieve their goal to finish a round.
This new series could be a revised version of a project called Go-Go Mystery Machine, which was originally announced in 2024. Initial artwork for Go-Go Mystery Machine suggested it would be a more standard anime, unlike the unique style of Scooby-Doo! Gokko. It’s possible both series are still in development – Go-Go Mystery Machine as a longer show and Scooby-Doo! Gokko as a series of short online videos. This approach is similar to what Warner Bros. Animation did with Tom and Jerry Gokko, which focused on slapstick humor for very young children.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the creators of the show, the Duffer brothers, clarified that while the actors might speculate, they don’t necessarily see Eleven’s possible survival as a hint that she’ll come back later. As Matt Duffer explained:
It’s amazing how quickly these movies were released! While most sequels take years to appear, all three of these films came out in under two years. The filmmakers and crew did a fantastic job filming everything together, and we really appreciate that fast turnaround.
Okay, so this workout is seriously fun! It starts with this move called ‘close the gate’ that really works your arms and chest. And honestly, the visuals are amazing – Jamie Campbell Bower is sporting some awesome ’80s gear, and the other two instructors are dressed as these totally retro characters, Delightful Derek and Heroic Holly. There’s even some stuff with telekinesis, and a move where you grasp and squeeze to get your legs going too. It’s a blast!
It’s hard to say much more about the fifth and final season of Stranger Things and its emotional finale, but it truly was spectacular. The show delivered satisfying conclusions to many character storylines, answered long-standing questions, and provided plenty of inspiration for fan creations. While rewatching the finale, my husband pointed out something I was already thinking during the climactic battle: it felt exactly like a boss fight from a Dungeons & Dragons game.
