Lars Eidinger Will Play DCU Brainiac, Reveals James Gunn

James Gunn announced Lars Eidinger will play Brainiac in the upcoming film, Man of Tomorrow, stating Eidinger was the clear choice after a global search. Gunn previously described the movie as a story where Lex Luthor and Superman must team up to face a larger threat, emphasizing it will explore both characters’ stories equally. Now, with Eidinger cast, it’s also shaping up to be a significant film for Brainiac as well.

Patrick Warburton’s Sons Read His EMPEROR’S NEW GROOVE Lines

It’s amazing how much Patrick Warburton’s sons – Talon, Gabriel, and Shane – sound like him; clearly, strong genes run in the family. Gabriel’s voice is perhaps the most different, but he still manages to capture some of his dad’s style. If Disney ever needs to replace the safety video for the Soarin’ ride, which Patrick Warburton narrates, Talon would be a great substitute. And speaking of Disney, even when his voice is altered by robotic effects for his character in Star Tours, you can still instantly recognize Patrick Warburton’s unique way of speaking.

Wild STAR TREK: TNG ’80s Comic Had Grinchy Aliens, Space Santa

The first DC comic book series based on the new Star Trek show came out in late 1987, shortly after the TV series premiered. Interestingly, DC developed the comics before any episodes aired. Writer Mike Carlin and artist Pablo Marcos worked from outlines and photos from the show, but hadn’t even heard the actors’ voices yet. This results in the characters feeling a bit different than how we know them – and it’s pretty funny that they’re all drawn as incredibly muscular! Apparently, this Jean-Luc Picard was a serious weightlifter. Because the comic was created so early in the show’s production, the Christmas theme likely never caught Gene Roddenberry’s attention. But we’re actually glad he missed it, because this holiday version of Trek is surprisingly funny.
