The story of Wonder Man didn’t need the full eight episodes it received. Even with most episodes being a concise 30 minutes long (except for one that was around 20 minutes without credits), the series included a pointless, comedic episode focusing on a very obscure Marvel character. Honestly, it would have been a stronger presentation as a standalone movie instead of what seems to be a single-season show.

I just read an interview with Robert Kirkman, the creator of Invincible, and he’s hinting at what’s coming in season four! He said it’s going to be really brutal, but not like the previous seasons. Apparently, while there will still be that classic Invincible action, season four is going to hit us with a lot more emotional weight, and he thinks that’s going to surprise a lot of fans – me included! I’m definitely bracing myself.
So why didn’t Wicked: For Good get any Oscar nominations? Several factors played a role. The sequel simply wasn’t as strong as the first Wicked movie. While the film made some odd creative decisions – like the focus on the cardigan and a few underwhelming new songs – the source material also contributed. The second half of the Wicked musical isn’t generally considered as captivating as the first. Wicked: For Good did its best, but it wasn’t quite the blockbuster its predecessor was. Plus, it didn’t have the same impact on popular culture, which often influences Oscar decisions.
One of the year’s most memorable films, Bugonia, was also quite unusual, but it still earned four nominations at the 2026 Oscars. KPop Demon Hunters is also in the running with two nominations, competing with the hit sequel Zootopia 2 for Best Animated Feature. Jurassic World Rebirth, featuring prehistoric monsters, could win the Visual Effects Oscar, but it’s up against the Na’vi from Avatar: Fire and Ash, which received two nominations. For those who enjoy sports movies, F1 is also being celebrated with four nominations, including a bid for the top prize, Best Picture. Finally, we’re thrilled that Weapons, another favorite of ours, has a nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

The new He-Man movie has been in the works for nearly two decades, with many different ideas and filmmakers involved. At one point, director John Woo and, later, Jon M. Chu (who’s now directing a Hot Wheels movie) were considered. The final version seems to be designed for families, aiming to please both kids and the original fans who grew up with the series. Initial reactions have been positive, so hopefully the years of development will result in a great film. Masters of the Universe will be released in theaters on June 5, 2026.
