Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin’s starting point for Elden Ring evolved so drastically that Hidetaka Miyazaki reckons he’d be surprised how the open-world RPG turned out

In an interview with Game Informer, Hidetaka Miyazaki revealed that George R.R. Martin contributed to the initial world and character concepts, but FromSoftware’s writers ultimately fleshed those ideas out within the game. Miyazaki even hinted that some of the final results were so different from Martin’s original concepts that the author might be surprised to see them.

For the first time, characters from DC Comics will face off against heroes and villains from other popular franchises, including comics, video games, movies, and TV shows. The battle includes Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat, Homelander from The Boys, Red Sonja, and Vampirella. Even Annabelle, the creepy doll from The Conjuring movies, will join the fight—hopefully against some of Batman’s enemies, like the Ventriloquist and Scarface! As a surprise addition, DC has also announced that Sabrina the Teenage Witch from Archie Comics will make an appearance.

Shawn Levy, a frequent director on Stranger Things, shared a story about Tom Cruise on set: Cruise was wading through mud and water, completely focused as he tried to get the perfect shot with a digital camera. Levy was impressed by Cruise’s skill, noting that he handled the camera like a professional. In fact, Levy revealed that some parts of the movie were actually filmed by Cruise himself – how amazing is that? Steven Spielberg visited the set last year, but didn’t operate the camera. Interestingly, Spielberg did pick up a camera when visiting George Lucas on the set of Revenge of the Sith, where he ended up filming part of the duel on Mustafar.
