As a devoted cinema enthusiast, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the news that Marvel Studios has cast Elizabeth Olsen as the female Silver Surfer in “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” set to hit theaters in July (a heads-up for potential spoilers here). Following the success of “Captain Marvel” and post-“Endgame,” the MCU has been making a conscious effort, much like its comic book counterpart, to replace beloved characters and rewrite tales from legendary creators, spanning decades, for reasons of diversity and inclusion. It seems that the Silver Surfer is next on the list.

Lottie responds that she can’t recall and hastily ends the conversation to catch a ride.
