The final episode of Deep Space Nine from 1999, titled “What You Leave Behind,” sees Captain Sisko complete his destiny as the Emissary of the Prophets, essentially becoming one of them within their sacred realm. Sisko, chosen by the godlike aliens revered as prophets by the people of Bajor, transforms into a spirit-like being inside the wormhole near Bajor. He vows to return, but by the 33rd century, he hasn’t. This prompts Commander Sam Rutherford to launch her own investigation, which unexpectedly leads to appearances by two key characters from DS9 at Starfleet Academy. However, these cameos aren’t what Star Trek fans would anticipate.

SAM is a representative from the Kasqians, a holographic species. She was sent to the Academy to study living creatures. Long ago, the Kasqians were originally created by organic lifeforms, but were then forced into slavery before being left to fend for themselves. To better understand organics, the Kasqians recently created SAM, giving her the personality and mindset of a human teenager.

Disney+ is developing a series based on Christopher Paolini’s popular fantasy novels, The Inheritance Cycle, beginning with Eragon. The project has been in development since 2022, with Paolini co-creating the adaptation alongside Harthan. Harthan and Helbing, known for his work with The CW, will lead the show as showrunners. Marc Webb, the director of The Amazing Spider-Man films, will executive produce, alongside Bert Salke of Co-Lab 21, who was previously announced as an executive producer.

It’s pretty unbelievable how many characters survive lightsaber injuries in Star Wars. Finn, Kylo Ren, Anakin, and even Darth Maul – who was bisected! – all live through what should be fatal wounds. Han Solo even manages to survive with a lightsaber sticking out of him for a full fifteen seconds! If you think about what actually happens when something is cut with a lightsaber, based on real-world physics, it’s clear no one should walk away. Here’s the thing: a normal stab wound causes a cut and bleeding. But lightsabers don’t just cut – they burn right through things.

The first season of Saturday Night Live UK will feature Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi, and Paddy Young. The show’s initial six episodes will debut on Sky on March 21st. Producer James Longman shared details in a statement released on February 4th.
