As a huge film fan, I’m a little puzzled by the reluctance to show much Green Lantern action. We did see Guy Gardner in action in James Gunn’s Superman, so it makes you wonder if the 2011 Ryan Reynolds movie is still casting a shadow. Honestly, it feels like it’s time to move past that! I think a darker, True Detectivestyle take on the Green Lantern mythos could be fantastic. A lot of the best Green Lantern stories aren’t even set in space – it’s about a person wielding a powerful ring and creating things with green energy, and that’s what’s so cool. Thankfully, Tom King, a fantastic comic book writer, is producing Lanterns*, so I’m really hoping he doesn’t stray too far from what makes Green Lantern great in the first place.

The new game, Resident Evil Requiem, was released recently, and players are already buzzing about it – especially one particularly frightening boss. About halfway through the game, in Raccoon City, players face a massive, incredibly realistic spider. It’s not only huge, but also very fast, and this combination is causing a lot of anxiety for people who are afraid of spiders, making them hesitant to play.

According to Variety, Peter Mullan (Braveheart, Children of Men), Lucy Boynton (Sing Street, Bohemian Rhapsody), and Babou Ceesay (Alien: Earth, The Best of Enemies) are joining the cast of HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The second season will be based on George R.R. Martin’s novella, “The Sworn Sword.” Mullan will play Ser Eustace Osgrey, Boynton will play Lady Rohanne Webber (also known as The Red Widow), and Ceesay will play Ser Bennis of the Brown Shield.

It seems Shawn Levy was the key to getting Gosling to change his mind about joining big franchises and agree to star in a Star Wars film.

The ending of the latest Scream movie reveals that Stu wasn’t actually one of the killers, but a sophisticated AI. Interestingly, director Kevin Williamson considered a different ending where Stu survived. A test version of the film with this alternate ending was even shown to audiences.

The relationship between Lestat and his mother is famously complicated in Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles. Though some readers interpret a romantic or even incestuous element, the novels don’t depict a literal sexual relationship. Rice’s vampires don’t engage in sexual intercourse. Instead, blood exchange serves as a substitute for food, drugs, and sexual pleasure – and even reproduction. So, while the blood exchange between Lestat and Gabrielle in Interview with the Vampire is charged with eroticism, it’s a different kind of intimacy than a sexual one.

To be upfront, the scripts for season four are already finished – all ten of them. The only thing holding us back is finding the time to film it. It’s really down to my schedule and when I can dedicate a year to the project, considering everything else we’re working on. But once we get started, we can move quickly.

A few years ago, it looked like Star Trek was doing really well on streaming, with shows like Discovery, Picard, and Strange New Worlds. We even got the first animated Trek series in a long time with Lower Decks and Prodigy. Discovery lasted five seasons, and Picard ran for its planned three. However, when Lower Decks and Prodigy were cancelled unexpectedly, and Strange New Worlds received a shortened final season, it felt like something was shifting. For years, the creative direction of Star Trek was led by Secret Hideout, the production company of Alex Kurtzman, who has been involved with Trek since the 2009 movie reboot. Now that Skydance has taken ownership of Paramount, are they planning a new path for the franchise? Kurtzman says he’s not done with Star Trek, but it’s unclear if the ultimate decision is his to make.
