I wasn’t surprised to see such quality from PlatinumGames – they’ve made incredible action games like Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and Nier Automata. However, this new game feels different. While the new character, Yakumo, has impressive ninja skills, it doesn’t quite capture the feel of the older Ninja Gaiden games. Ryu Hayabusa was powerful and fast, but also felt weighty and impactful. Yakumo, on the other hand, is all about speed and feels lighter, more in line with other games PlatinumGames has created than the classic 3D Ninja Gaiden trilogy.

Kim shared that testers felt the story was too lighthearted and lacked enough content during the recent test. The team is taking this feedback seriously and is already working on improvements for future updates. This includes creating more in-depth stories – like Trauma Code, Messenger, and Excursion – that will explore the characters and show different facets of their personalities.

This update prepares players for the release of ‘From the Ashes,’ a new expansion launching on December 19th. Inspired by the upcoming Avatar movie, ‘Fire and Ash,’ which also debuts that day, the expansion picks up shortly after the game’s main story. Players will experience the story through So’lek, a skilled Na’vi warrior seeking revenge against the Ash clan for betraying their people and siding with the RDA.

It’s unclear why she’s using the name “The Dahlia” – it could be a playful reference to a character from Genshin Impact, or a hint that she’s a fan of Herta. Regardless, in a previous teaser, Duke Inferno praised Constance as his most skilled follower and tasked her with pursuing Black Swan in Penacony.

As a gamer, I’m seeing a huge shift in how I play thanks to cloud tech. Remember needing a super expensive console or a powerful PC to run the latest games? Now, all the heavy lifting happens on remote servers, and the game streams directly to my phone, tablet, or smart TV – it’s like watching a video! Seriously, I can play new releases on an old laptop at a coffee shop, as long as the Wi-Fi is decent. This is awesome for publishers because it gets their games in front of more people, and for us, it means we don’t need to spend a fortune just to jump in. No more massive downloads, waiting for patch days, or worrying about running out of storage space. Plus, sharing with friends is so much easier – we can join a game or watch each other with just a simple link. It’s crazy how quickly viewers can become players too, since loading happens instantly on their end. Of course, it’s not perfect yet. Those data centers use a lot of power, and lag can still ruin a crucial moment. Even a tiny delay can be the difference between winning and losing. But with 5G rolling out and smarter compression tech, things are definitely getting more stable. Hopefully, better servers and routing will help keep things smooth, even when everyone’s online at once.
