Elvira’s ’80s Radio DJ Set Is Pure Halloween Retro Goodness

Cassandra Peterson, the actress who brought Elvira to life, has retired from playing the character in person. However, she still manages the Elvira brand, and you can find plenty of Elvira-themed products, especially around Halloween. Though she’s no longer wearing the makeup, her voice still sounds exactly the same! This makes us wonder if she could bring Elvira back to life as a voice-over artist for a new radio show. There have been so many great spooky songs released in the last 35 years that would be perfect for a playlist, and we’d definitely listen to a show like Elvira’s Halloween Party Part II.

Gaming and psychology: why do we become attached to our favorite characters

We start to care about characters in games because of something called the “presence effect.” When a game truly pulls us in, we forget we’re looking at a screen and start feeling like we’re in the game world, reacting to events as if they’re happening to us. Things like choices that matter, storylines that change based on our actions, and conversations we participate in make this feeling even stronger. Games like Mass Effect, Detroit: Become Human, and Life is Strange are great examples – your decisions directly impact what happens to the characters.
