＋ Big damage with no downsides

Network executives cancelled the show following Jimmy Kimmel’s opening monologue on Monday, September 15th. The monologue mentioned the recent shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, stating: “Things really reached a new low over the weekend, with supporters of MAGA frantically attempting to portray the person who shot Charlie Kirk as not being one of their own, and trying to gain a political advantage from the situation.”

We initially believed that James Gunn would avoid exploring alternate Earths so early in building his DCU, considering it’s only two projects in, especially since Marvel Studios is already heavily involved with their own Multiverse Saga. However, Gunn has emphasized that season two of Peacemaker will set the stage for significant events within the DCU. With the season concluding with the U.S. government gaining unrestricted access to a portal leading to infinite worlds, it seems likely that DC is preparing for its own large-scale Multiversal story. But what might that look like? The comic books offer many possibilities.

Just to refresh your memory, Strength represents physical power, Dexterity means agility & coordination, Constitution refers to stamina & health, Intelligence signifies mental acuity, Wisdom embodies common sense & perception, and Charisma is all about personality & persuasiveness.

In “Like a Keith in the Night,” Lex Luthor received assistance not from a machine, but from a person. He instructed the director of A.R.G.U.S. to contact Sydney Happersen, a former LuthorCorp employee, to locate the lost portal. Happersen, described as an “MIT super genius” (played by Stephen Blackehart) and the one who “literally wrote the book on dimensional interconnectivity,” was a key scientist working for Luthor in James Gunn’s Superman. He was also largely responsible for nearly causing global destruction with a massive rift. Though Happersen believed he should-and wished to-seal the tear in reality, he didn’t act when his supervisor reprimanded him.

As a fan of unique games, I’m really excited about Baby Steps! It’s an open world exploration game, and honestly, it reminds me a little of both Death Stranding and QWOP – a wild combination, right? It’s made by Bennett Foddy – you probably know him from QWOP and Getting Over It – and he’s working with Gabe Cuzzillo and Maxi Boch, who he previously collaborated with on Ape Out. They’ve said it’s the kind of game that a big publisher would probably never approve, and that’s exactly why I’m so intrigued!

The problem with considering it his ultimate Halloween song is that, even though the title and visuals suggest something frightening, it’s not about a terrifying monster attacking people. Instead, it’s a humorous song about a charming and stylish man who attracts wealthy older women in London. It describes a fellow in a three-piece suit who enjoys Chinese food and piña coladas.

The news surfaced in a Variety article highlighting promising writers, including Austin Everett, who briefly noted that he had written the script. That’s certainly noteworthy! He added that he was unable to share further details, which is understandable. The idea behind this story has the potential to stretch far back in time. However, does the John Wick franchise still draw interest when Keanu Reeves isn’t the main star? It’s a possibility.

The battle system is built around a classic Rock, Paper, Scissors mechanic, featuring Power, Technical, and Speed attack types. You control a party of two characters and their monsters, and can freely choose your attack style. When targeted by an opponent, one of your characters will engage in a one-on-one duel with the opponent’s monster. The character using the winning attack type will inflict significant damage, while the losing character will be unable to act.

One player acts as the Wingleader, and they’ll privately rank five cards chosen from the first three books in the series. The other players, forming the Iron Squad, will collaborate to figure out the correct order. The first team to spell out Priorities wins! With lots of different things to consider, expect some lively discussion. This game is perfect for anyone who finds card games like Magic: The Gathering a bit too complicated.
