In the final episode, “The 752,” Helen (Elizabeth McGovern) discovers the truth about her twin sister, Emma, who was lost to her in childhood. An ex-Talamasca agent reveals that Emma had an incredible gift from a young age: a perfect photographic memory. She could recall specific details from any day of her life, like the weather, or even count the bricks in a building years later. She could also read a book once and remember every word perfectly, forever. Because of this unique ability, the Talamasca turned Emma into a special research subject – a project known as the 752.

William Fichtner explained Jasper’s quick trust in Guy by discussing their dynamic in Talamasca. He said Jasper was at the Motherhouse because he had issues with the Talamasca and how they’d impacted his life. But when Jasper first met Guy, he was simply amused by him – someone walking in and immediately wanting to talk to him struck Jasper as incredibly bold.

I’m really excited about how the show is developing, and I recently heard from John Lee Hancock, the showrunner, about who turned Jasper into a vampire. He said they’ve been discussing it a lot – the when and where – and they have a strong idea. They’re definitely paying attention to the wider Anne Rice universe and its history, but they’re not necessarily locking themselves into anything specific. It sounds like they’re building something really thoughtful, and the idea they have for Jasper’s maker is still on the table, which is great!

The creators of the show, the Duffer brothers, promised this season would be non-stop action, and the trailer definitely delivers on that promise. It’s striking how a single Demogorgon was such a threat in the first season, but now they’re common enough for the military to easily defeat. Hopefully, we’ll see some even bigger monsters this season – maybe even the return of Demodogs or similar creatures. We’ll need to wait for more than just the trailer to find out for sure.
