In a not-so-distant future, the most popular TV show is a brutal competition called The Running Man. The episode begins at a carnival near Derry, where a young boy—later revealed to be General Francis Shaw—visits a haunted house and has a frightening encounter. It’s clear Pennywise is involved, signaled by a glimpse of a clown with red balloons. Afterwards, Francis befriends Rose, the Native American owner of an antique store we’ve seen before. Francis spends the summer with Rose, but their peaceful time is threatened when he wanders off into the woods.
Okay, so Jasper, the vampire, is definitely the villain here. He’s after a really important book of knowledge – the Talamasca’s codex, known as the 752 – and he’s actively getting stronger to pull it off. But the really creepy part? He’s been working on a… side project. He’s breeding zombie-vampires! Apparently, they’re a twist on an older type of undead, but Jasper boasts these Talamasca-created versions are just as dangerous, only they’re completely obedient and under his control. And he’s got a whole group of them! He even introduces us to one he calls Checkers. Honestly, the guy has a disturbingly playful side – a really dark sense of humor, considering everything.

As a big fan of the Alien universe, I always found Alien: Earth fascinating. It details the journey of the Weyland-Yutani ship, the Maginot, which spent 65 years traveling the galaxy to collect alien creatures – all for that famously shady company. Naturally, they were after the Xenomorph, but the film also introduced some really interesting lesser-known species, like the T. Ocellus – often called the ‘Sheep with the Eye’ – and a bunch of creepy, insect-like bloodsuckers.
