The fourth episode of Critical Role Campaign 4 opens with Bolaire acting suspiciously. We quickly discover that under his mask, there’s nothing left of his original body. The mask itself is dangerous – anyone who removes it is compelled to put it on, which ultimately kills them and transforms their body into a new version of the mask. This episode also reveals Bolaire’s cold-blooded nature, as he casually dismembers a corpse and abandons it without hesitation.

Now, the campaign focuses on figuring out why Thajazi had to die, what went wrong with the attempt to save him, and what secrets he was involved with before his death.
