I recently spoke with Josh Horowitz, and the conversation turned to Chris Pratt. He’s currently promoting his new science fiction film, Mercy, but keeps getting asked about his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – and it’s hard for him to avoid those questions.
I can’t believe it – ‘Sinners’ just smashed the record for most nominations! Previously, movies like ‘All About Eve,’ ‘Titanic,’ and ‘La La Land’ held the record at 14, but ‘Sinners’ blew past that! A new award for best casting definitely helped, which is awesome. Honestly, it’s huge for a horror movie to get this much recognition – they rarely do this well at award shows, so I’m incredibly excited for the team!
Robert Downey Jr. is firmly opposing the use of AI to replicate his image and performances, and has stated he will take legal action against any studio that tries to do so. This stance follows his memorable roles as Iron Man and in ‘Oppenheimer’, for which he won an Academy Award. He argues that an actor’s unique talent and personality can’t be duplicated by artificial intelligence, and his actions are setting an important precedent for protecting actors’ rights in a world increasingly shaped by digital technology.
Actress Shailene Woodley sparked discussion when she publicly said she doesn’t identify as a feminist, explaining that she appreciates men. Celeste, a platformer created by Extremely OK Games, tells the story of Madeline’s challenging climb up Celeste Mountain. The game explores themes of anxiety and depression through Madeline’s personal journey, and the game’s director, Maddy Thorson, later revealed that Madeline is a transgender woman. However, the game’s core gameplay – focused on skillful jumping and quick movements – isn’t about her gender identity. This detail simply adds another layer of richness to Madeline’s character as she battles her inner demons and strives to overcome obstacles.
