During a 90-minute talk at the Royal Alexandra Theater, she also discussed her role in the 1999 thriller The Talented Mr. Ripley, which was adapted from Patricia Highsmith’s celebrated novel.
The film boasts an engaging storyline, focusing on Tom Ripley, played by Matt Damon, a cunning imposter who manages to insinuate himself into the lives of the wealthy Dickey Greenleaf (Jude Law) and his girlfriend Marge Sherwood (Gwyneth Paltrow). According to reports, Blanchett expressed that this project was among her finest, stating “It was simply outstanding – I had an amazing summer working alongside my late co-star Philip Seymour Hoffman.
In response, the actress from Carol mentioned, “We visited a spot known as Fashion Pizza. We devoured plenty of pizza there.” Additionally, she highlighted that during the shooting process, she resided in Matt Damon’s “magnificent apartment,” while he was obliged to practice at the Four Seasons every day. In contrast, she enjoyed relaxing during her stay.
