Given Anthony Mackie’s latest statements and Marvel’s upcoming release of “Brave New World” next week, a picture of Chris Evans as Captain America (Steve Rogers) featuring President Donald Trump has become widely shared online.
It’s worth mentioning that the image is computer-made. It’s commonly understood that Chris Evans, like many other Marvel Avengers actors, is not a supporter of Donald Trump. Given this context, it’s likely he wouldn’t participate in a similar event featuring Trump.
As a movie enthusiast, I’d like to share my thoughts on a recent exchange of ideas sparked by an article from Variety. The user Huff4Congress posted a picture featuring Captain America alongside Donald Trump, which was in response to Anthony Mackie’s advice for everyone to calm down about the comparisons drawn between Trump and Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk character in “Captain America: Brave New World.
I jumped into the conversation when YouTuber Nerdrotic posted a comment, and the result was nothing short of incredible! My response sparked quite the buzz, racking up an impressive 18.1 million views on that post.

What did Anthony Mackie say?
Based on Anthony Mackie’s statements, it appears that Mackie has stated in an old interview that his character Sam Wilson is not Captain America, but rather Steve Rogers is. Also, Mackie mentioned that he doesn’t want to play Captain America because Falcon is not Captain America. Strangely, I can’t seem to find the interview anywhere. If anyone happens to come across it, please let me know.
Besides taking on the role of Captain America, Mackie has been under scrutiny lately following his statement that Captain America is not a symbol of the United States.
The character Captain America embodies numerous ideals; I believe it’s important to note that ‘American’ isn’t one of them. Instead, he symbolizes a person who upholds his promises, demonstrates honor, dignity, and unwavering integrity. He is someone you can rely on and depend upon.
Mackie followed it up with:
Allow me to clarify my statement. I am unabashedly an American, and being given the opportunity to embody a hero such as Captain America is the greatest honor of my life. My admiration for those who protect and have protected our nation knows no bounds. There are qualities that Captain America embodies which resonate with people from all corners of the globe.
In an interview with Esquire, Mackie said the following to fans about Red Hulk Trump comparisons:
I sincerely hope that as a nation, we’re growing weary of the constant political debates. Perhaps it’s time for us to step back, relax, and enjoy a movie together. If we could turn something into a problem simply by making it yellow, then maybe it’s a sign that we need some downtime.
