The advance ticket sales for “Captain America: Brave New World” started on Friday, and initial indications show that it’s outperforming both “The Marvels” and the upcoming “Joker” sequel, but it’s not quite matching the success of “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” which is set to release in 2023.
According to box office analyst Luiz Fernando, the ticket sales for the current movie are 1.4 times greater than those of other films, yet they haven’t managed to surpass the sales of ‘Quantumania.’
Although it’s performing better than some recent underachievers, Quantumania didn’t live up to expectations, and both The Marvels and Joker: Folie à Deux were considered box office disappointments. However, there’s still a glimmer of optimism, as it’s projected to earn between $86 million and $95 million during the Valentine’s Day/President’s Day weekend.
Some people believe that enthusiasm for Sam Wilson, portrayed by Anthony Mackie, as the next Captain America might not be as strong because of conflicting test screenings and leaked storyline details that haven’t sparked universal excitement. Additionally, there is a group of viewers who have yet to fully embrace Wilson as Steve Rogers’ (Chris Evans’) successor.
Indeed, the presale for #CaptainAmerica: #BraveNewWorld began on Friday at the US Box Office! After just two days, while it hasn’t yet reached the level of #Quantumania which premiered during the same weekend in 2023, #CaptainAmericaBraveNewWorld is currently performing approximately twice as well as #TheMarvels.

In the movie adaptation of Brave New World, Sam joins forces with a newly elected U.S. President portrayed by Harrison Ford to handle a global predicament. The film boasts an impressive ensemble of actors, including Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Liv Tyler, Giancarlo Esposito, and Tim Blake Nelson. Julius Onah is the director, with Kevin Feige and Nate Moore serving as producers.
Captain America: Brave New World opens in theaters on February 14, 2025.
