Capcom warns it “will no longer guarantee” Monster Hunter Wilds, Rise, and World “will run” on PCs using Windows 10 as of mid-October, also advises Wilds players to check your dang drivers

Since Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 10 on October 14, 2025, Capcom announced that players of Monster Hunter Wilds, Monster Hunter Rise, and Monster Hunter World who continue to use this older operating system will no longer receive support from them going forward.

In a recent announcement on Steam, Capcom explained that once Microsoft stops supporting Windows 10 on October 14th, they can’t promise that these Monster Hunter games will continue to work on Windows 10 systems.

These games will continue to work for now. However, future updates to the operating system or the games themselves might cause them to stop working on Windows 10, and Capcom won’t be providing fixes for these potential (and likely) issues.

Capcom states that the game may not work correctly on operating systems that Microsoft no longer supports. If you encounter problems, support will be limited to information available before Windows 10 support ended. They will also stop investigating issues specifically related to running the game on Windows 10. Proper game functionality cannot be guaranteed on operating systems of which Microsoft has ended support. If an issue running the game occurs, support can only be provided based on information from before support for Windows 10 was discontinued. Services for investigating problems regarding running the game on Windows 10 will be discontinued.

In other words, if you want to keep playing, best update to Windows 11.

Only three hours after sharing information about Windows 10, Capcom released a Steam notice for Monster Hunter Wilds, informing all players – not just those with Windows 10 issues – about the latest updates regarding the game’s performance problems.

Capcom has acknowledged that players are experiencing game crashes and unexpected shutdowns, pinpointing the cause to problems with their graphics cards. They recommend players update their graphics drivers to resolve these issues.

If you’re an Nvidia gamer like me, you’ll need driver version 580.88 or newer to get things running. And for those of you rocking an AMD GPU, make sure you’re on version 25.2.1 or later. It’s really important to keep those drivers updated, trust me!

Look, your experience might be different, but I wouldn’t go expecting a driver update to magically fix everything. It seems like the newest patch for Monster Hunter Wilds is causing a bunch of problems with drivers, and Capcom is working on smoothing things out.

Just a quick note: the significant CPU and GPU upgrades designed to fix Wilds’ performance issues on PC are scheduled to arrive this winter. These improvements will address the poor PC performance players have been experiencing.
